All Immigrant mothers’ stories start in their home country. They have already been building lives surrounded by families/friends, navigating girlhood transition to womanhood, and understanding what it is they want in life, but now they have to start all over again in a new chapter once they arrive in America. Immigrant mothers navigate motherhood not only as a newfound mother but as a woman in a foreign country who has to carve a new life for herself.
