Butterbot

A project from Fall 2023 DESINV 22 Prototyping at Fabrications at UC Berkeley: Bluetooth-controlled vehicle Product Video

Challenges:
The most challenging component of this project having accurate measurements of all components’ laser-cut files. The thinness of the body and its inflection point became the point of frustration.

Future Iteration:
To better the prototype, the future iteration must have more accurate measurements in the laser cut files to ensure all components fit smoothly. To ensure vehicles have the ability to pass all obstacles, the wheels must be larger and the head must be smaller.

Full Project Writeup

The robot is powered by a battery pack and controlled through Bluetooth, aiming to simulate the Butter Robot from Rick and Morty. Its purpose is to, well, “pass the butter.”
